New "Group function" is added in Ripplex Ver.1.0 in order to enhance the communication between friends. "Group" offers a way to share information between members of a group by distributing part of the group organizer's contact list. This Group concept is different from existing contact list concept.
Usually in contact list distribution, the control of your information is with the group organizer. For example, in the school reunions, the organizer decides which information of yours is disclosed to all participants.
In Ripplex group as well, the group organizer decides which information should be shared with all members of the group. But the group organizer should put only the minimum information (e.g. only name) and all members can see exactly what information of his/her is disclosed to the group. Each member can disclose any additional information to the entire group or to some of the members on individual basis.
For example, in social parties, many people exchange information like phone numbers or email addresses on individual basis and it is not a good idea for the party organizer to share such information of all participants to every one present. With Ripplex, party organizer can make a list of participants' names (or nicknames) and distribute it to all attendees. If a participant would like to disclose her/his email address to this group, all attendees can know the email address when the disclosure setting is set as such. A participant can also choose to disclose the phone number or email address only to some of the participants, without disclosing to all the members of the group. There is also an added advantage of sharing the information with Ripplex, namely once a participant changes the disclosure setting, the information is automatically updated in the recipients' Ripplex.
