Growing address book

SafetyThe PMM search is a new proprietary technology that does not allow strangers with no information about you to find you and at the same time, you can also disallow some of the people you know from searching you.

Safety2In SNS and Web address book services, you need to upload and disclose your name, email address etc. to the server for search use.

For example, with Facebook or MySpace, you can be found by your friends if you disclosed your real name. But you can also be found by strangers. With Skype, anybody who knows your email address can find your Skype ID. Moreover, many of the websites tell that you can find your friends by your school or company information, if you have disclosed such information to the service provider.

Ripplex has a search function as well, but the search mechanism is totally different from above mentioned services. Ripplex search system uses a new technology named "PMM search". PMM search has following features:

  • People who do not have your information can not find you
  • You can also disallow people you know from searching you
  • The information registered to server is Hash which can never be recovered or read
  • There is less possibility for multiple hits for same name compared to general search systems

The PMM search is a new proprietary technology that allows you to select the friends who can find you, and at the same time, you can only be found by your friends who have your information. Moreover, the information registered with the server for search use is hash (The encrypted data can never be recovered) of combination of some of your and your friend's information. So, nobody, not even Ripplex Inc. can have a way to know your information.

Ripplex's role is very different from other SNS services. It does not compete with these services. There are some interesting benefits when SNS and Ripplex are combined. The main role of SNS is to make new friends and communicate with them. On the other hand, Ripplex is aimed at making easy and safe connections with people you already know. Helping you make new friends is not our role. Our goal is to serve the original purpose of address book, in a much better way.
