Send Link Request to Friend Found by PMM Search
When the PMM search finds a match between a Ripplex Address Book user and a profile of a friend in your Ripplex Address Book, it notifies you by changing the link status from
to
,in all the views of Friends' window for the entry for that friend. The number within the blue circle on bottom left corner of
indicates the number of matches found. Each match in Ripplex Addrss Book is referred to as a candidate. Each match is a potential candidate for really being your friend. In Ripplex Address Book search, multiple matches are extremely low. Once a match is found, you need to verify if that is indeed your friend and if so, you can send a Link request to your friend. Once a match is found, you can send a Link Request to that friend by following the steps outlined below.

1) Select a friend that is found by PMM search and click the link status icon to open the Link window for that friend. You can also do the same by going to "Link" button on the tool bar. In the example below, Daniel Brown is selected. You also get a message in the bottom left when ever there is an action that is possible for you to take to link with a friend. Here it shows that Daniel Brown is found (C). Clicking that message is also another way to go to Link Window of Daniel.

2) Link Window for Daniel Brown appears as shown below. It shows the link status (A) as well as your information that is already known to Daniel by means other than Ripplex Address Book (most likely from you). After reviewing the information in this window, if you would like to send Link Request to Daniel, just click "Send Link Request" (B) otherwise click "Close" (C)
4) When Link Request was sent in step 2) above, the Link Window shows the changed status as shown below. It shows that you have sent Link Request to Daniel and now need to wait till he accepts your request. You can click "Close" to close this window. You can also use this window to cancel your request to Daniel if you wish. You can always open the Link Window by clicking the Link Status icon for a friend or by clicking Link button on the tool bar after selecting a friend.
5) The Icon and Detail views also show the changed status as shown below. Link status icon is changed from
to
(Link request is made to a candidate) (B) for Daniel.
6) When your friend (in this example, Daniel) accepts your request then the link is established (A) and the link status changes from
to
in both Friends' window (Icon View is shown below). Now it is possible to share information with each other as per the disclosure setting. For disclosure of information, please refer "Disclose information". Information and updates are automatically sent through the 1-1 link as encrypted messages without having to share or store this information on a third party server. You can go to Link Window of a particular friend at any time by clicking the link status icon of that friend.
