Sync Button for Explicit Save and Synchronization
While Ripplex Address Book is running, your data is saved from the memory to hard disk periodically. The contact information you entered is also synchronized with Ripplex server periodically in Multi-Computer Synchronization mode. Please note that the data on the server is encrypted and even Ripplex Inc. has no access to you and Your Friend's information. Any updates due to data changes from your side to your friends, as well as updates from your linked friends to you also happen at the same time. PMM tables are updated based on any changes in your Ripplex Address Book data. The data from your computer, which is sent to Ripplex server for PMM, is a bunch of hash functions of pairs of various contact items and as such can not be retrieved and recognized by any one, not even Ripplex Inc. It is only used for the searches between you and your friends.
"Sync" button performs following actions:
- When in "Offline" mode, it saves the data to your hard disk.
- When in "Online" mode, it saves the data to your hard disk, connects to Ripplex server and performs the functions described above (generally described as synchronization)
When you close the Ripplex Address Book or switch mode from "Offline" to "Online", your Ripplex Address Book will try to synchronize with Ripplex server as well.
