Join Other Friends’ Shared Category as a Member
1) Joining friend's Shared Category is automatic as long as the Shared Category organizer has entered your name in that Shared Category and you have a link with the Shared Category organizer. The interesting feature of Ripplex Address Book is that members linked with Shared Category organizer can link to each other without having to rely on PMM search. For example, in the Ripplex Address Book of an Alumni Association, a person in Alumni Association can create a Shared Category for a graduating class and if every member of the class has a link with the Alumni Association then they can have 1-1 link with their friends without needing any additional information (based only on names).
The example below explains this in detail.
Assume your (Lisa's) status with some of the people in Ripplex Address Book is as follows:
- Maria: Linked (
)
- Sandra: Daniel is requesting a link to you (
)
- Daniel: not linked
- Greg: Not linked to you but linked to Maria (for you, Greg is a linked friend through Maria, so this status is called indirect link) (
)

2) In this situation, suppose Maria (linked with you) made a Shared Category called "Tennis". Then in your Ripplex Address Book, "Tennis" Shared Category that Maria made appears automatically.
3) When you select "Tennis" Shared Category (organized by Maria), the members of the Shared Category appear in Friends list. You are already linked with Maria and since she is linked with Greg, you are indirectly linked with Greg. For more detail about indirect link, please refer "Link with Friends". Please also note that when you select a friend from a shared category in Detail View, you see selected friend's items in right pane. The ones with symbol "
" are the items shared with you for this friend by the group owner.
