What is "Shared Category"?
Shared Category is a collection of friends in a person's Ripplex Address Book that can be partially shared with other people using Ripplex Address Book. Shared Category is same as "Group" in Ripplex Address Book Ver.1.0.
Below is an example of two Shared Categories. One created by Lisa is called "Coworkers" and the one created by Maria is called "Tennis". Let's assume that initially Lisa has entered only Sam, Mark, John, Daniel and Maria in her address book and establishes a link with Maria as well as a link with Daniel. She also creates Shared Category "Coworkers" with Sam, Mark, John and Daniel as Shared Category members and decides to share their names and work phone numbers. Maria creates a Shared Category called "Tennis" in her Ripplex Address Book with Lisa, Daniel, Greg and Sandra as Shared Category members. She decides to share names and cell phone numbers of the Shared Category members.
The benefits of Shared Category "Tennis" to Lisa are as follows:
- Lisa sees Shared Category Tennis (with owner Maria) in the list of Shared Categories in her Ripplex Address Book.
- She sees all the entries of Shared Category "Tennis", namely Daniel, Greg and Sandra and their shared information (in this example, names and phone numbers as Maria knew and entered).
- She can recognize and merge Daniel as same Daniel that she already has in her Ripplex Address Book.
- If any one of Daniel, Greg or Sandra has a link with Maria then Lisa sees that as an indirect link with herself in her Ripplex Address Book. This makes it easier for her to establish a link with Greg if she knows Greg ad some one who is a common friend of both her and Maria
Similarly, by creating the Shared Category "coworkers", she is not only organizing her Ripplex Address Book (just like she could have done with category of same profiles) but she is also making (a) some key information of all Shared Category members sharable to all members of that Shared Category as soon as they start using Ripplex Address Book and have a link with her and (b) provides an easy way for the Shared Category members to then set up links with each other and share more information so desired.
